Making St. Brigid's Day crosses last February
In February 2020, Ms. Clare’s 4th & 5th class learned all about the story of St. Brigid, one of the patron saints of Ireland. We then decided to make St. Brigid’s Crosses, which are associated with St. Brigid of Kildare. These are typically small crosses, usually woven by rushes that have four arms tied at the ends, with a woven square in the middle. Have a look at our photos below to see how we made them!

On Wednesday 22nd of October Junior and Senior Infants had a wonderful day Pumpkin Picking at Tinahely Farm Shop.
Our 4th class girls made a bit of history at the annual SLOT Cross Country held on October 1st in Carlow Town Hurling Club.
Rang a 6 paid a visit to Coláiste Bhríde for a taster day recently to give them an idea of what awaits them in secondary school next September.
The children in Ballyconnell NS had lots of fun during Maths Week 2025, which this year, took place from 13th – 17th October 2025!
On the 1st of October it was National Tree Day, Joanna Donnelly planted a tree at the front of the school with some of the members of our Parents Association.
