The children in Ms Clare’s 4th and 5th class have been busy learning about the Procedural Writing genre in English this week.
Firstly we listed where we would normally see or recognise procedures in everyday life i.e. recipes, game instructions, how to draw a picture etc. before writing a procedure together as a whole class on how to make a lava lamp! (Take a look at our lava lamps article on the school website also!)
The children then practiced writing the first draft of their own procedures in their free writing copies. Following editing and correcting the children then completed their final draft onto the procedural writing templates provided. Take a look at the photo of the writing wall display from our classroom.
