Lámh is a manual sign system used by children and by adults with intellectual disability and communication needs in Ireland. Lámh supports communication - between parents and child, between siblings, between friends.
The students in Ms Clare's 4th & 5th class have been very fortunate lately as they have had the opportunity to learn some of the letters & basic phrases using this manual sign system, with their other teacher Ms O' Brien.
The children have also learned how to say their own names using Lámh.
The children were given a page with all the letters on it to use as a reference for them whilst using Lámh in the classroom.
This was definitely something different as well as a wonderful opportunity for the children and they thoroughly enjoyed it!
