Our Famous Landmarks
As part of our Geography lessons this year, one of the topics which we covered was ‘Our Capital City – Dublin’. Within this chapter we learned about the most renowned areas and buildings in Dublin, their history and how these buildings are being used in Ireland at present. The children really enjoyed learning about Dublin and were able to relate to most of the chapter, with most of the class having visited these places already. Following this, we decided that we would construct some of these most famous landmarks of our capital city for art, using just cardboard boxes, glue, newspaper, papier mache and paint. Probably the messiest we’ve ever been for an art lesson but it was worth it!! Take a closer look!
