Coolkenno Ladies had a great victory in the Wicklow Junior Championship and some of our past pupils returned with the trophy. Croí tells us more.
When Coolkenno ladies GAA won the Junior A cup, it brought delight to the whole community but it was not easy. In 2021 Coolkenno lost to Carnew. They didn’t lose hope. They came back stronger than ever with a clean run. They have some outstanding players on their squad. When the final came there was great excitement in the whole community. They were up against Kilcoole and they got out with an early lead but the scores were tight at half-time. In the end, Coolkenno got away with a win! The final score was 4-09 to 2-10 to Coolkenno. On the 10/10/2022, a few past pupils came to the school once again. They were Áine Donoghue, Niamh Harris and Carl Tompkins. They told us how to never give up and that they too were similar to most of us. They also started out playing Cumanna na mBunscol. Overall, it was a great visit!
