As part of their Christmas religion lessons, rang a 5 made Christmas candles (coinnle na Nollag)
Placing a candle in the window at Christmastime has long been an Irish tradition. It is both a secular and religious tradition. The lit candle is meant to show a welcome to Joseph and Mary on their journey to Bethlehem. It also signifies that the house is a welcoming one and is open to visitors calling – who’ll find food and shelter.
