Have you ever played camogie? Or thought about playing? Well today I will be telling you about my experience in Kildavin. It was a very eventful day for the girls and I will tell you why.
On the 26th of November all the girls were preparing to play camogie in Kildavin! But first we did training in school during break. During training we mainly did matches and drills. When the day ended all the girls were getting excited for the camogie. I went with Hollie, Madisyn and Mary to Kildavin. We were all getting nervous but also really excited. We weren't expecting to win. We were just going for the fun. Next thing you know, we were in Kildavin!!
While in the dressing room putting on our jerseys, I got number 9. We got told we were playing next so we all went running on to the pitch to play against Ballon and they were really good! They got a load of goals and we got none but we still did well and had fun. Our next match was straight away and again we got no goals and they got loads but again we had lots of fun. Then our next match was our final match. It was against Clonegal and they were really good also. For that match, I was in forwards. Emma was in goals. She was really good. Again we didn't win but like all the other matches we had a bunch of fun!
That was the first time the girls in Ballyconnell did camogie or at least in 50 years! So all the girls made history. We were really happy with that news. We were also proud of each other for at least doing the camogie even though none of us really played before.
That was my day in Kildavin playing camogie against Ballon, Clonegal and Kildavin which was really fun. I really enjoyed it. Thank you for reading about my camogie experience!
