Keeping active at home!
This year, because of Covid-19 it was not possible for Active Schools Week to go ahead in school, so instead, we invited the families of our school to participate in the ‘Active HOME Week’ challenge. This took place on 26th April – 1st May. The idea of the #ActiveHomeWeek challenge was to:
We provided Active Home Week ideas for the parents alongside Active Home Week Challenge Charts for the students to fill in. Children were encouraged to try something NEW, have FUN with a family activity and to ENJOY the week! Thankfully the weather remained fine for the week! On Wednesday 22nd of October Junior and Senior Infants had a wonderful day Pumpkin Picking at Tinahely Farm Shop.
Our 4th class girls made a bit of history at the annual SLOT Cross Country held on October 1st in Carlow Town Hurling Club.
Rang a 6 paid a visit to Coláiste Bhríde for a taster day recently to give them an idea of what awaits them in secondary school next September.
The children in Ballyconnell NS had lots of fun during Maths Week 2025, which this year, took place from 13th – 17th October 2025!
On the 1st of October it was National Tree Day, Joanna Donnelly planted a tree at the front of the school with some of the members of our Parents Association.
