A Special Guest Arrives in Ballyconnell
Wicklow GAA GDA (Games Development Administrator), Paul Garrigan, recently paid us a surprise visit. In recent years, Paul has been delivering coaching sessions to our junior pupils. This time, however, there wasn’t an O’Neill’s or a training cone in sight!
Instead of the usual coaching accoutrements, Paul brought along the Brendan Martin Cup. The Brendan Martin Cup is the trophy presented to the All-Ireland Ladies Senior Football Champions. Meath got their hands on the trophy for the first ever time a few weeks ago, beating Dublin in a thrilling final.
Paul was part of the coaching team which masterminded the Royal County’s stunning success. There was great excitement among the pupils to see the famous trophy in Ballyconnell!
Paul then returned the following week for a 4-week stint coaching our junior classes.
