Since 2014, the Covid-19 years of 2020 and 2021 notwithstanding, Ballyconnell NS has offered Gaeltacht scholarships to lucky 6^th class students. What started out as one scholarship was increased to two when the Parents Association offered to come on board a few years ago.

This year we have formed a new partnership with Coláiste Laighean who operate out of Good Counsel College (Coláiste na Dea-Chomhairle) in New Ross. They offer 1-week courses aimed at students in sixth class.

We are delighted to announce that Elliot McCarthy and Oisín Townsend are the winners of this year’s scholarships. Two excellent Irish students with a great love for An Ghaeilge, Oisín and Elliot will no doubt have a great time and make loads of new friends! Comhghairdeas a Elliot agus a Oisín!
