The Active Schools Walkway
Category - Sports
On the 3rd March 2020 we created our Active Schools WALKWAY route which we use to promote physical activity and cross-curricular learning in our school.
We have an A4 walkway plaque to denote the start of the route at the main door of the school. We also have 10 green and 4 blue control point signs throughout the school grounds. The green signs are used to mark out the walkway route and the blue signs are used to denote the active zones. Our walkway encompasses the entire perimeter of the school grounds and is 0.25km in length.
Due to our schools closing later that month, we didn't get the opportunity to have an official opening day for our walkway with the entire school. However, we have had the chance to complete different activities on the walkway, with our own individual classes for example some of the senior classes completed the worksheets, e.g. 'Walkway Multiplication' & 'Walkway Reading Suggestions' which are included in the Walkway resource pack.
