The week before mid-term, rang a 6 organised a mock presidential election among the students of 4th, 5th and 6th class.

Our 4th class girls made a bit of history at the annual SLOT Cross Country held on October 1st in Carlow Town Hurling Club.
St Lawrence O’Toole’s Cross Country 2025
Almost 50 of our students headed to Carlow on October 1st to take part in the annual St Lawrence O’Toole’s Cross Country Championship. The competition is open to all 4th, 5th and 6th class students across County Carlow and beyond with over 30 schools represented on the day.
From a Ballyconnell NS perspective, the main headline was a team gold for our 4th class girls! This is the first time that Ballyconnell NS has won a team gold in this competition. The fab four who were first home were Rose O’Toole, Maia Froelich, Kate O’Toole and Anabel O’Grady. In addition, Rose finished in 3rd place overall, following in the footsteps of her brother Christopher who also medalled in SLOT in recent years. Maith thú, a Róis!
Overall, great fun was had by all our students who pushed themselves hard to do the best they possibly could. Well done to all our students who participated and míle buíochas to all at St Lawrence O’Toole’s Athletics Club who organised the event.

On Wednesday 22nd of October Junior and Senior Infants had a wonderful day Pumpkin Picking at Tinahely Farm Shop.

Rang a 6 paid a visit to Coláiste Bhríde for a taster day recently to give them an idea of what awaits them in secondary school next September.
The children in Ballyconnell NS had lots of fun during Maths Week 2025, which this year, took place from 13th – 17th October 2025!
On the 1st of October it was National Tree Day, Joanna Donnelly planted a tree at the front of the school with some of the members of our Parents Association.
