4 th class have spent the year in St Mary’s Hall. They thought it a good idea to find out a little bit more about this important building in our parish and to share what they learned with their school mates.

6th class students Sarah Keogh & Luke O’Connor did us proud at the recent INTO Mini- Sevens blitz.
Each year, one boy and one girl are chosen from each primary school in Carlow to attend the INTO Mini-Sevens Blitz in Fenagh Centre of Excellence. One lucky boy and girl from the blitz then get chosen to play in Croke Park at half-time in either the All-Ireland Semi-Final or Final – what an honour that is!
Our representatives this year were Sarah Keogh and Luke O’Connor. Sarah and Luke both enjoyed their day out immensely and relished the chance to pit themselves against the most talented players in Carlow.

Our Spelling Bee Champion, Sara O’Grady, recently took part in the Carlow County Final of the Eason Spelling Bee. Read her account below.
We were delighted to welcome our former student, Rosealice Byrne, back to Ballyconnell NS last week to regale our 4 th , 5 th and 6 th class students with details of her recent trip to The Gambia in West Africa.
