All students at Ballyconnell NS once again took to the basketball court to complete the Daily Mile during September and October.
Since we began our Active Schools journey, 5 years ago now (where has the time gone?!), the Daily Mile, or Míle Laethúil as Gaeilge, has been a staple of our AS programme. This year we really hit the ground running and got our Daily Mile up and, ahem, running, upon our return to school in September. As ever, the children hugely enjoyed the experience. Fitness levels improved noticeably during our 7-week stint which no doubt contributed to our students’ fine performances in the Valleymount Cross Country Championships. Read more about that here.
As you’ll see from the pictures below, the Daily Mile continued no matter what else was happening in the school – GOAL Jersey Day, Halloween Dress Up Day – whatever the event, teachers ensured the Daily Mile was completed!
